Here's the thing(yes, I wrote that just for you, Elissa), I am just not super into blogging right now. I feel like I really go through a lot of inner turbulence when I am blogging. What should I blog about, are my blog posts too long, or maybe are they too short? Am I giving way too much information? What is interesting about my life that other peeps might want to know? These are just a couple of the questions that fill my brain until I get distracted doing something else on the computer.

happenings of late

Alright friends. I know it's been forever, but TONS has been going on.

Finals. I ended up with a B+ in Human Development, but looking back sometimes I feel like I probably don't deserve that, but other times I can't figure out how I didn't get an A. It was a crazy class and I hope I never have a grad student as a teacher ever again. Anatomy went wonderfully. I received an A- in the class, I was less than one percent away from an A, but whatevs. I can't believe fall semester starts in like two weeks... I still need to add another class.

New Calling. I am the new second counselor in the relief society in my YSA ward. I am a little nervous for it, but mostly super excited!!! I haven't really done much yet, except go to the monthly 7AM meeting with the stake last sunday:(.

Public Speaker. I spoke in church on sunday. My topic was virtue. Maybe I'll post my talk later or something because it was pretty good if I do say so myself. I spoke on my third official sunday in the ward. I was sustained into my calling on my second sunday, and I was called on my first sunday. I am getting really excited to be in this ward, and it has helped me realize that I'm where I'm supposed to be this semester(living in my parent's basement.)

Lagoon: I went with the family to Lagoon! It was so much fun! It was extra special because Nick's girlfriend came with us, and it was exciting to get to know her better. She was brave to be survive spending an entire day with us.

Bridesmaid!-One of my very best friends took the plunge last friday and I had the grand opportunity to be a bridesmaid!! It was a wonderful experience, and if I ever figure out how to get photos from my phone to my computer, I may post some... I loved spending the entire day with one of my other best friends. One downside was wearing heels for over eight hours, but we survived. Barely. (don't ever make bridesmaids wear black dresses in August)

Study Abroad!-I submitted my study abroad application less than ten minutes ago. Now it is just a waiting game. I wait to schedule my interview and then I will wait to find out if I'm accepted. I thought that I would feel relief right now, but I am feeling anxious and nervous because I have told so many people I'm going, it would be SO embarrassing if I wasn't accepted now.

Also, I have been working at the pool still, my most amazing cousin Elissa stayed with us for a week, my awesome cousin Amanda returned from D.C., I've started training to be the receptionist at the physical therapy office, and I have started and failed a couple of diets and exercise plans.

More about ears.

When I was in junior high, my elf ear was a little bit of a taboo subject. I was super shy, and so it made for some awkward times when other students would talk to me ever, let alone about my ear.
Fellow student: "Why do you have pointy ears? Are you an elf?"
Courtney: "I used to be."
Fellow Student: "Really?!"
Courtney: "Yeah, lived at the North Pole and everything, but I wasn't good at building toys, so Santa got real mad and kicked me out one day but not before cutting the tip off one of my ears first."
Fellow Student:

Also, on a separate note, my eardrum is healed.

Yesterday, a girl at school told me she likes my elf ear.

pink tympanic barrs

I have a ruptured tympanic membrane in my left ear. Also, I have conjunctivitis(more commonly known as pink eye) in my left eye. I got blood drawn to test for the epstein barr virus, or mononucleosis. I'm crossing my fingers that the results come back negative.

I originally got on the computer to write a paper that is due on Monday at four but BYU's library website is just not working so I'm blogging instead!

Last week, as many of you probably already know, was the fourth of july!! Happy Independence day!! It was so fun because on the 2nd I went and watched the stadium of fireworks, then on Monday we did fireworks with my family in the rain, which was super fun(a little anticlimatic, but fun.) But after that it was so cool because this is the first year that big fireworks have been legal in Utah, so we went out on the deck and just watched fireworks being set off all over the valley. I felt so proud to be an American.

On Thursday morning I took my first (of the term) anatomy lecture midterm and I got a 96!!! Retaking this class was the best decision I've probably ever made. Okay, maybe not THE best, but in the my top five for sure.

My sister has mono and I'm scared I'm going to catch it from her.

initial position

I just finished my very first paper for summer term 2011. Kind of stressful because now I have another one to write. My liking of the professor, as English as he may be, is decreasing. 2 papers due the second day. I sincerely hope the pattern does not continue.

Swimming lessons start in a half hour and to tell the truth, I am not that excited, but because I dropped $175 on a text book the other day, I feel like I should probably go.

My house is real cold. I am wearing slippers and a zip up hoodie right now.

Red Skins.

As you may or may not know, I am in my 20th year of life. I really feel like I should be old enough to rub a little sunscreen on myself every hour or so. I'm not. I forgot to put sunscreen on my legs today. They are hurting pretty bad, and to make it worse, I know they will hurt even more tomorrow.

My first day of school was awesome. My professor is English and everything that comes with it. Accent-check. Swearing in dedicated buildings at BYU-check. Hot-check.

Tomorrow I start anatomy round two which means I will be wearing long pants all day, which will probably create uncomfortableness due to my sunburn.

First day of School Round 19

I think I counted that right. I have had 19 first days of school(K-12, freshman year both semesters, Spring Term 2010, Sophomore year both semesters, and now Summer term). I have had some pretty bad luck in the past for first days of school, and I didn't think I was that nervous, but I am. My sub-conscious made sure to let me know last night when I had dream after dream about school. I slept horribly. I go to Human Development tonight, and then Anatomy tomorrow. Wish me luck!

It's just what I do.

There I was straightening lounge chairs at the Riverside Country Club pool when I heard a commotion and looked up and there was a young girl drowning. I leaped over the chairs(adrenaline helps you do amazing things) ran over and jumped in the pool. The girl was fine after being pulled out of the water. Her mother was no where to be seen. She had been saved just a mere hour earlier by one of my attentive coworkers. I offered a life jacket, but she chose not to use it. Just another day at the RCC pool.

People keep asking me if I have gotten a job yet. This question is a little complicated. I do have a job, but I have been looking for another job, so I don't know what exactly they are trying to ask me.

Building a Base

Recently, while reading Runners World magazine with my momma, we came across an article that displayed a 16 week plan to your first marathon. I was super excited, I thought to myself "I can stay motivated for 16 weeks, right?" Well, as we read the article more closely we found that a base must be built for at least a year before doing this 16 week training. So, for the next year and 16 weeks I am going to try being a runner. I am starting out small. Last week I ran 2 miles 3 times. This week I am planning on doing the same. Next month I am planning on adding another day, and hopefully by around september/october I'll be running around 20 miles a week(so 5mi. 4days/week.) Last year I could run so far, so it is a little bit discouraging, but I am excited!

Satan Valley

That is what I think every single sign in the Santan Valley says. I just read it wrong every time. I do not really believe that this is Satan Valley though. I am loving being here in the Santan Valley in ARIZONA!!! It is so much fun!!! I have loved just relaxing and playing with my cousins all week long!!

Some of my favorite parts of each day:
Monday: Getting to Grandma's house!(it only took us 9 hours!! Holla!!)
Tuesday: Going to H&M, swimming in Grandma's pool, PEDROS(the BEST mexican food restaurant in the valley where they know my Grandma on a first name basis) going to Gina's
Wednesday: Margaret's Birthday!! :) Out to Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Thursday: BBQ in Grandma's backyard
Friday: Swimming 2.5 hours at Grandmas(small sunburn), back to H&M, Pool Party with Gina
Saturday: Shopping, The original Burrito Co
Sunday: Going to the Mesa, AZ temple!!! My parents got sealed there and I don't remember ever visiting it. It was beautiful, and they had the most amazing display in the visitor's center of paintings of scenes from the Book of Mormon. This was seriously one of the brightest highlights of my week.

Tomorrow I head back to Utah. I have loved being here though, and although it has been hotter than Satan's valley here this week, I hope I can come back soon!

:(

Yesterday I woke up with a day full of plans(apply for more jobs, clean my bathroom, go to the gym, etc.) It was not five minutes later that I thought I was going to toss my cookies. I was sick. I'm thinking it was with the 24 hour flu, but really I'm not sure because I'm still not feeling 100%, or even 90% today. Mom was substituting at the High school, so I was the only one at home for hours on end. Although I didn't do any job hunting or bathroom cleaning, it gave me a chance to clean all my shows off the DVR! I watched like 3 episodes of the Ellen Degeneres Show, 2 Movies, The Office, and some other randoms.

The 10 Day Beauty Challenge

Tomorrow I am starting a 10 day beauty challenge. BYU's women's services and resources center had a campaign this past year entitled: Recapturing Beauty. It was all about how every single woman is beautiful. I heard about this 10 day challenge during the school year, but I never did it. I was recently reminded about it, so, because I think it would be cool, and I need things to do, I am doing it. Anyone is welcome to do it. I would encourage you to do it.

How do I make my fondant for dipping chocolates harden faster?

Yesterday I half-fell on the treadmill at the gym. My entire shin is basically a bloody stump now. I also shut my hand in the door yesterday afternoon. Now I don't want to go to the gym or attempt to shut another door. Ever.

This week has been really nice. I go to bed late, get up late, get ready, and then just don't do anything all day. Actually, I do do things, but they're just not planned, for example, sometimes I go to the grocery store with/for my mamma, or one time I even picked my brother up from school. It's been really relaxing. I have applied for a couple of jobs though. I do need to start making some money.

Some other things since I last posted:
  • I finished my second year of college.
  • I got a C+ in Anatomy... Whhaaaaat? I'm still re-taking it though.
  • I moved home
  • I miss my roommates terribly
  • but my mommy makes me breakfast every single morning(during the week)(and these aren't just any breakfasts, they're like ihop/denny's breakfasts i.e. eggs and bacon and toast and grapefruit, or pancakes, or hot cereal!! YUM!!)

One Hundred Posts Later

This is my 100th post! YAY! I feel like a legitimate blogger now. THe first legitimate thing about my life.(jk mom and dad). I was originally planning a huge party post, but finals start on Friday, so it didn't happen. Maybe I'll make my 102nd post incredible...

THE ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FIRST ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS

I loved loved loved general conference this weekend, and I can hardly wait until the Ensign comes out in a month. It's going to be good because I already know what's going to be in it... except for the Priesthood and Young Womens talks, those will be a surprise!

I absolutely loved every single talk. Earlier this week my Teaching of the Living Prophets professor asked us to not write down what the speaker says, for we will have the ensign/youtube/lds.org to read/listen/watch the talks later as many times as we would like, but to write down any thoughts/feelings/reactions we had during the talks. Although it was a little harder than just jotting down what was said, I am very thankful for the insights that I received.

My parents are in Mexico this week, so it was an adventure watching conference with just us kids. I'm 98.99, no 99.99 percent sure that Brian and Garrett were playing games on their ipods during every session, even though they claimed to be taking notes. I had to remind myself that it took me until I was much older than them to become thankful for conference and to look forward to it.

On a separate note, I can not believe that Easter is not until the 24th! Laaaaaammmeee!!

April Fools

Conference starts in three minutes
Yesterday was april fools
I put 25 goldfish in clear plastic cups all around my apartment for my roommates to wake up to.
Some were dead so I put those cups in the fridge/freezer.
I just got back from the gym.

I finally decided to figure out how to post pictures on my blog, so here are some gems:

Also, I lost my wallet last thursday. Hopefully it will be in the lost and found on Monday...
Happy Sunday!!!

P.S. I am stoked for conference next weekend!!!!!!:)

WHo is this man of my dreams?

Imagine you are walking to your teaching of the living prophets religion class on BYU campus, when out of the blue a dashing young man comments that your hair is beautiful.

This happened to me. Who is this guy? Where did he come from? What is his name? Will I ever see him again?

Updates

In a post appx. 2 weeks ago I wrote that I was getting a new retainer. four impressions and 3 retainers later I finally received my new retainer today. It is green with purple polkadots and the whole thing is glow-in-the-dark.

My ward activity last saturday was cancelled because of the wind. It turned out okay because we got to finish watching BYU mens basketball stomp on the Zags to make it to the sweet 16(if you call me or beep me on thursday between 5:30 and 7:30 I will not answer. Just sayin.)

THis is what I come home to??!!!

Last night I went to the gym, I felt bad leaving because my roommates and I had discussed watching Anastasia, but I decided to hit the gym instead. I left megan laying on the couch reading for polisci, Mindy on her computer, and Caitlyn studying on her computer, all in complete silence. I had a wonderful time at the gym(I successfully ran 2.25 mi!). I was gone for approximately one hour. I returned to find Megan playing Mario Cart on the Wii, and Mindy and Caitlyn going crazy on photobooth. I joined Megan and we all proceeded to spend the next two hours just being your stereotypical college students staying up late doing basically absolutely nothing.

creepy crawler in the kitchen

There was a centipede in our kitchen. Three screaming fits and a styrofoam cup later, Mindy killed it and saved our lives.

I work at a physical therapy office as an aide. On Fridays I will usually ask patients how their week has been. Some of them will give me a good reply, and then they ask me how my week has been. I told them it has been bittersweet. I have seen a lot of family this week, which I absolutely love, but it is because my dear cousin broke his sweet little back. Actually, he isn't that little, and the break wasn't little either, but we had some get-togethers, which made the week way fun.

What else happened this week? On sunday I hurt my neck, I then had the physical therapist for whom I work look at it. He made it feel much better, but then I started feeling ill. By the end of work on thursday I thought I was a. going crazy or b. going to die. After getting out of work I went straight to the doctor where I found out I have vertigo. From hurting my neck. He gave me some dizzy pills, and life has been much better since.

Tonight I'm going to soldier hollow to go tubing with my singles ward. I have no idea how it will turn out. I am trying to have zero expectations.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Maybe, maybe not.

I may or may not be in humanities right now.
I may or may not tie my jacket around my waist today when I get tired of carrying it.
I may or may not toss my cookies at the worst possible time today.
I may or may not fall asleep any second.
I may or may not highly dislike my humanities professor.
I may or may not care about the song of roland.
I may or may not be super excited to watch BYU play tomorrow night. I may or may not be getting/already be sick.
I may or may not go to my next class.
I may or may not pass my anatomy quiz tonight.
I may or may not pass my anatomy class this semester.
It may or may not rain today.

Last night I saw The Adjustment Bureau. It was real good. Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are amazing actors. To make it even sweeter, I get extra credit in Political Science for seeing it.

bleh

my roommate and her friend are studying chemistry in our apartment right now. I am bored even listening to them try to do their homework. I need to make sure I don't pick a major which involves a single chemistry class. I guess that means no nursing... I really need to get my priorities straight.

Saturday is a special day

I went swimming at the gym this morning.
I cleaned my room today.
The lights in my room are out.
I am in the middle of doing my laundry.
I'm watching the BYU v. SDSU MWC championship game right now.
I have a midterm to finish before 1 pm on monday.
I still don't like dr. pepper.
It's been real good weather recently.
I'm donating blood on Thursday-a.k.a. St. Patty's Day!!

I am bothered.

If you have never been to robertisbothered.com-go there now. It is absolutely hilarious.

I have recently been thinking about some things that bother me.
1. Girl Scouts do not come to the student apartments. I want some girl scout cookies.
2. I ipod touch gets fingerprints on it quite easily. I'm thinking about just using as a small table from now on.
3. When the people above us are getting a new water heater/floor and it makes my apartment super noisy.
4. When people don't replace the TP roll when it runs out.
5. Yawning

germs

One of my biggest frustrations/growing phobias/fears is deciding to get some hand sanitizer, and then walking over, pushing the button, and having no sanitizer come out. I am then left with a hand covered in more germs than I had before, and no hand sanitizer dispenser/sink with soap in sight. I then have to change my plans until I find one of the two, sometimes I am late for class, sometimes I catch colds, or the flu, or mononucleosis because of this.

Actually, I have never had mononucleosis, but there is no knowing whether I have contracted the previous two from empty hand sanitizer dispensers or from something/someone else.

What the crazy??!

My umbrella basically saved my life today. My boots did not. I remembered that I do in fact enjoy running. Chili is yummy. I am one step closer to retaking anatomy this summer. I want to paint my apartment this weekend. It's a good think I clipped my toenails yesterday. I need to go back to second grade science class when they teach about precipitation. Cafe Rio burritos are not even half as good the next day. I still like showering in the morning more. I'm getting my new retainer tomorrow. I don't enjoy blow-drying my hair, but I enjoy wet hair even less. I am excited to be a wife and mother and have my very own house one day.

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Busy busy busy

Today we invited some boys over for breakfast, so we made yummy yummy french toast with fresh strawberry syrup and whupped creane, bacon, and OJ. Super good. Then we got ready and went to stake conference that started at 3. That ended at 5, so we walked straight through the rain to the Marriot Center for the CES fireside. We got there early, so we had SAH-WEET seats! Then we came home and made dinner which I had planned thanks to Angie Adam/Sister Gleed and their amazing recipe for Stromboli!! It was so good, and now I am stuffed.

All together a good day.

the greenest

Happy March!!

My roommate's computer is possessed/haunted/alive. She will put it to sleep, but leave the screen up, and then randomly the screen will turn back on/light up. It's pretty freaky.

My retainer broke so I went to the orthodontist for the first time since 2004. Sadly, my old retainer will not be able to be fixed, so I am getting a new one made. I was very proud of myself, I didn't even gag once while having the impression taken. I also decided that as I am now 20 years old, it would be inappropriate to get a camo/neon colored/glitter decorated retainer, so instead I got an opaque green one.

Today I have also played wii fit, had blood drawn, visited with my mamma, had breakfast and lunch and checked my e-mail.

Sunday, February 27, 2011

The sun is burning my eyes out.

THe above title has nothing to do with this post. It is just the sun was quite bright when I exited the Tanner building/church today.

I have noticed that in the past week I have started thinking that inanimate objects look like anatomy structures. i.e. I'm walking home from class and see a rock and think "oh, that looks like a platella." I know. It's pretty weird. I'm getting a little more nervous for anatomy because the fire marshall made a visit and said that too many students were in the open lab at a time. THis led to an e-mail from the head anatomy professor explaining that only 24 students would be allowed in open lab each hour, and students are only allowed to spend up to 2 hours in lab each week. Ah!! I have no idea how I'm going to pass this class.

Thursday, February 24, 2011

I just got home from the grocery store. It's hard to shop for food when I'm not allowed to eat anything harder/chewier than well baked fish. I don't even know what that means. Pretty sure I haven't eaten fish in over a year. I ended up buying bananas, grapes, yogurt, cottage cheese, bread and facewash. I'm not planning on eating the facewash.

Today I met with an academic counselor. He didn't really tell me very much new information, but he just encouraged me to chase my dreams and take advantage of the amazing opportunities offered at BYU. It wasn't the best experience, but better than any of my meetings with my high school advisor. ha.

This evening I spent three point five hours in the library studying. I know I'm amazing. It was actually very nice. I really enjoyed just getting into my homework. I think I'll try it more often.

Well, it's time to go get ready for bed/put a bag of hot rice on my face/sleep.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

1 down 3 to go

I took my anatomy midterm tonight. I have never been so nervous for a test in my entire life. Not even the ACT or the AP spanish test or my drivers ed test. Hopefully I did alright, I mean I felt like I knew most of the terms, but the spelling is what is questionable. I also couldn't stop thinking about a former roommate(you know who you are) who was an anatomy TA once upon a time who may or may not have made fun of students when they put the wrong answer.

I can't even describe my excitement about the fact that I have no class tomorrow.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

three minutes

I have three minutes left in my dinner break before I am going back to the anatomy lab to continue my studying. First, I want to make an edit to my post from yesterday. I had originally written that I have 3 finals this week. Myth. I have four. It's alright though. I will survive. I am planning on going on a study abroad next year. I just cant decide between Jerusalem or London! If anyone has any comments on that-please feel free to help me out and tell me what you think. I am excited for this week. It's going to be a hard one, but I feel confident that once it is over I will still be alive-which is all that matters...maybe.

Well, there's the bell, which means it is 6pm and my three minutes are up.

Monday, February 21, 2011

This week

This week will include: 3 midterms(anatomy, teachings of the living prophets, political science). 1 meeting with a nursing advisor. 2 papers. Payday. 1-3 emotional breakdowns. 3-4 trips to the gym. 3 days of work. Monday classes on Tuesday. 8 class periods. 2 lecture reviews.

Wish me luck.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Cancelled.

Today I didn't feel well-my tummy felt all turned upside-down. Well, I really didn't want to throw up, so I decided that it was a good idea to take a quick 10 minute power nap. My cat nap turned into a 1.5 hour re-vamp. (you are probably thinking, "courtney, don't you have class during that time?-the answer is yes. Usually. Today I only kind of had class. I missed my religion class, and my humanities class was CANCELLED!!!! Yay!!) I did go to my polisci class, and my anatomy lab. I think I did really well on my anatomy quiz, but I felt the same way last week, and that didn't turn out well.
Things I'm excited for:
1. three day weekend
2. only one more class this week
3. Sledding/skiing after the awesome snow storm outside.
Things I'm dreading:
1. Political science paper due on Monday
2. Anatomy mid-term next Wednesday(oh how I wish I took this class last winter when Angie the Anatomy Goddess was my roommate.)
3. 20 more days on a soft diet

8. I'm sitting in Humanities right now learning about Virgil's Aeneid-if you don't know what it is, don't ask me because I just spark noted it-there was no way I was going to read 70 pages when the professor told us we would have to spark note it anyway.
9. I didn't even wear my coat to class today.
10. I'm real tired.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

WEDNESSSSSSDAAAAAYYY

1. It was 2 degrees F when I got to work this morning.(I put F because I can't figure out how to spell that word-Fareighnheight? farenhight?...)
2. I got to eat lunch at home with my mama.
3. I made it to my Teachings of the Living Prophets on time by speed walking as fast as most people run and then skipping steps up the stairs of death.
4. I did a super good job staying alert and attentive during my first two and last class today. Political Science didn't go too well.
5. I decided to finish off the milk in the fridge. There was way more than I thought-I think I've just eating about 4 bowls worth of cereal. I think I might be sick.
6. I only have one more class this week.
7. BYU Basketball won their game tonight. Go Cougars.
8. I'm really liking this changing the size thing.
9. I didn't have to scrape my windows this morning-there was no ice. I don't get it.(see above temperature)
10. I'm going to bed now.

Just that dumb song

For the past month I have had the Michael Buble/Amy Grant version of "Grown Up Christmas List" in my head. I am currently listening to it as I write this post. Some other songs that are often in my head
1. L.O.V.E.-You know "L" is for the way you look at me, O is for the only one I see...
2. Firework-Ringtone
3. Kiss the Girl-Shalalalalala kiss the girl... Disney's The Little Mermaid
4. Come Come Ye Saints

All of these songs come to mind if ANYONE says ANYTHING that even might pertain to the song title/lyrics/theme/etc. I then start singing. Doesn't really matter where I am either.

Two cups of my life.

I donated blood today. I am sacrificing quite a lot to even write this post right now because my finger is bruised from the finger prick-worst part. I was so brave the whole time though that I even got some cookies and juice at the end.

I'm happy that I helped save a life today... as long as I don't get sick in the next week and have to call and cancel my donation.

Sometimes I feel like I'm more awkward now-in college-than I ever did go high school.

click.....click.....click...

For years my jaw has clicked. I didn't worry about it until recently. Very recently. This morning it got stuck. I had to rip my mouth open real fast and it popped super loud and it hurt. The rest of the day it was fine, but while I was just barely eating a granola bar, it started hurting again. I don't want jaw surgery.

Another list of ten events from my day

1. It was 13 degrees when I got in the car to leave for work this morning. Oh how I did not miss Rexburg today.
2. I survived my fourth real day at my new job(physical therapy aide)
3. I got up at 6am so I could shower and then be ready for work by a little before 8am.(I never skip breakfast either.)
4. I survived 3.5 straight hours of class.(wish me luck every monday and wednesday for the rest of the semester!)
5. I woke up to a clean room
6. I was going to give blood and then decided that I was too dehydrated, but I am going to make another appointment and be prepared next time.
7. I'm wearing my snuggie right now.
8. My mommy, sister, cousin and aunt went out to lunch without me.
9. I went to the gym with my cousin for the fifth time in the past week!!
10. I looked more closely at the Survivor application and realized that it has to be received by tomorrow(the 11th)not postmarked!!! DANG IT!! I guess next year will have to be my lucky year. :.(

All in all, not in my top five days of my life. That's for sure.

Here's to making it through the first week of a new semester/job!

Yet another new semester

Right now I am sitting in room 248 in the MARB(I would write out the entire name of the building, but I don't even know what the real name is). It is Nursing 180. I have just one other class today-PDBIO220 aka anatomy. I'm a little nervous for that class to say the least. I am also taking PLSCI201 HUM202 Teachings of the living prophets and maybe a writings of isaiah.

Hopefully, the semester goes well.

Laser Tagging

One of the few holiday traditions my family has is going to Laser Assault in Provo(UT) to play laser tag. I'm being very humble when I say that I am the best in my family. Well, not five minutes into our game, I went to peek around a corner and was met with a gunt in my mouth-literally. Blood was dripping off my chin as I rushed out of the game room and out to the entrance area to get some ice. Luckily, they had plenty of ice available and I am now on the mend and feeling much better(this may be due to the painkillers I took, but I'd like to think it is due to the love my brother put into the chocolate pudding he got for me.).

Let's just say that next time I will be wearing a football helmet complete with face mask.

Happy New Year.

skiing

I went skiing for the first time this year today. It didn't go too well. I will survive though. Let's just say the day ended with riding the lift DOWN the mountain while listening to Alyson tell those riding up one of the following(while pointing at me):
she's hurt
she fell down
she was too scared
she's single
We're not real skiers, we just came to ride the lift
We are only here to find boyfriends
Don't go down Bearclaw-you will hate your life

In the end I did get one phone number and a whole bunch of weird looks.

I'm pretty sure I just hear santa walking around upstairs, so I need to go to sleep. Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

I don't even want to talk to you.

Yesterday I took my new phone back to get a different new phone because I didn't like my first new one. Now I have a better new phone that is a sweet metallic blue color. I'm stoked for it. I already like it more than my first new phone. Getting new phones has made me think though-why do we NEED cell phones? I mean, I understand having one while driving in the car-in case of an accident one can call for help, but really, we do not need phones except to call in emergencies. I have been thinking a lot about how attached we as a society are to our phones as well as electronics. The result of this thinking=the second week in January(Sunday through Saturday) I will not be using my phone for texting and I will be taking a break from FB, Blogger, People.com, Yahoo.com, YouTube, and any other recreational use.

In Short:
1. If you want to get a hold of me you need to 1. find me in person or 2. Call me.

that's all.

Happy Holidays

Fall 2010

Fall 2010 is officially over. I survived my first semester at BYU(provo). I surprisingly did as well as I had hoped I would on all of my finals. I may or may not go crazy waiting for the 29th to roll around to see my official final grades. But all in all, I am just excited to be done and be home relaxing and doing nothing but getting excited for Christmas(and maybe going on a ski trip or two, reading a good book or two, going to a party or two).

In case I don't get a chance to say it later,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

It is Tuesday night. 9:09PM to be exact. I have only one final left to take and I am oh so happy!!! This whole "finals week" thing is a little new to me. At BYU-Idaho I had most of my finals the last day of class. My last final is a take home test for Women's Health. Hopefully, I can finish it quickly so I can be DONE with my very second fall semester of my life in college.

I hope I am finished with school in 5 semesters.(very unlikely, but I need some sort of goal.)

Monday, December 13, 2010

:(

Today I got a sliver in my finger. It hurt real bad until I pulled it out.

Saturday, December 11, 2010

My Saturday before Finals

Get out of bed at 10:30. Eat breakfast. Procrastinate studying while playing on the internet for (about) 3 hours. Eat small lunch. Go to grocery store. Help roommate (megan) make cookies. Spend 3.5 hours on research paper. Work on mission prep take-home test for 30 min. Eat dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets for dinner. Go to sister's(Alyson's) to watch Eclipse. Go home. Go to sleep.

My Thoughts recently

I am done with class for fall semester 2010 at BYU. It feels weird. It doesn't feel like it's been a year since I moved away from Lamprecht #306 and my beautiful Margot and Givinig Elizabeth my roommates, into an apartment of complete strangers all of which I grew to love so very much.

In so many ways I feel like I am an entirely different person, but in other ways, I'm still here. Same old Courtney that has always been here.

My pillow is too soft

For the first two days of the week I was so good and got up at 6AM to do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. Last night, I set my alarm to get up again, and I had every intention of getting up, but when my phone beeped at 6, I started thinking about my day and how busy I am going to be, and I re-set the alarm for later. I am going to be better tomorrow.

On an entirely different note, I have been having some weird dreams lately. I can only remember bits and pieces, but one that I had last night included clogged shower drains, random young children at my parents house, and Gisele Bundchen(the super model).

Monday, December 6, 2010

Imagine my surprise when I was in the restroom at work and I realized my shirt was inside out. Good one courtney.

Friday, December 3, 2010

A while ago, when my sister worked at 6 in the morning, we would text eachother around 7-9ish and tell eachother about our days so far. So that's what this list is all about.
1. I'm at work and I still have 1hr 15min left.
2. I'm tired.
3. I got 8 hrs of sleep last night, and I'm still tired.
4. I need a new water bottle because the water in mine tastes funny.
5. It's quite warm outside this morning.
6. It's probably going to snow tomorrow.
7. I only have one class today.
8. I ran out of frosted mini-spooners this morning.
9. I'm still a couple episodes behind in NCIS
10. It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cell Phone

I got a new phone on Saturday. I've already dropped it twice. Good one Courtney.

Monday, November 29, 2010

I just want to make one thing clear:
I would never actually punch a small child.

What a Week

So many things happened this past week including:
1. minor surgery on Tuesday
2. Thanksgiving on Thursday
3. BYU/Utah football game on Saturday

OKay, so only three big things this past week, but it was so fun!! I love my family and my cousins and I am so thankful for all of my many many blessings. I am so lucky!!

Best. Night. Ever.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

P.S. I got a new design for my blog-I hope you like it.

The one and only Harry Potter

Not so good things about my day yesterday
1. I had a research paper due
2. I got to write a different research paper(7-10 pages) for sociology
3. I had a midterm for my fitness and lifestyle management
4. Class till 8PM
5. I couldn't just lay outside in the beautiful sunshine

Things I loved about my day yesterday:
1. I got a fun size snickers at the end of my food science class.
2. I turned in my 6 page research paper in Womens Health.
3. I saw my roommate Megan at the testing center and then when I finished before her I left her a note that she got when she finished her test!!
4. It was such a beautiful day!
5. THE BELL TOWER PLAYED HARRY POTTER AT NOON!!!!!

P.S. No, I did not get to see Harry Potter last night, but I am hopfully going to see it tonight. I don't know if I can even wait till Monday anyway, so I better see it tonight.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

The Week from Heckiland

1. 7-10 page research paper on whether illegal immigrants should receive Health care due Friday.

2. 6 page research paper on womens health junk due Thursday

3. LAST Midterm(I think?...) by Thursday night... late fee if I take it Friday

4. Working Interview on Friday at a physical therapy office

5. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART I ON FRIDAY!!

6. Dipping Chocolates with the cousins and aunts on Saturday morning at 8AM-WHAT?

7. LAST home BYU football game Saturday afternoon.

Basically, the reason this week is so horrible is just because it's super busy, there are some good things coming up this weekend. It is a blessing I guess because then next week I can just relax during the break and do nothing. I am so excited to have almost an entire week off of school(I'm skipping class/work on Tuesday! :)) Wish me luck!

P.S. Using the word Heckiland in the title is just a little shoutout to my amazing FRIEND Daralicious Gleed(soon to be McFarlane :))

Clean Up in Produce

Yesterday I headed home to do a quick load of laundry at my parents house. My mom then informed me about an old friend's baby shower that night, so I headed to Target with her to buy the gift. We then went to the shower. We were only there for 2 HOURs?? At least, that's when I stopped keeping track of the time. It was really fun to see a bunch of the people from the "old" ward.

After the shower(Alyson met us there) my mommy agreed to take us to dinner. After going to 3 different restaurants and finding each was closed(it was only 9PM!!! I forgot that I still live in Rexburg? Well, we finally decided to just stop at Harmons and buy something to make at home for dinner. This is were everything went down. Mom wore her super cute boots to the shower, but they also had a 3.5" heel. They were hurting her feet, so I offered to swich. I started trying to help her pull one of them off. I started pulling a little too hard resulting in pulling her over. She ended up flat on the floor. Don't worry, a very nice man, a store employee and Alyson all came to make sure we were okay. Physically we were fine, but our pride took hit.

In the end, Alyson and I each bought frozen dinners, and then we bought a muffin mix. The dinner was alright, and the muffins were delish. Mom treated herself to some iburprophen and ice for her knee.

I hope she forgives me one day.

Star Trek

A boy in my sociology class sounds exactly like Chris Pine(the hot captain kirk in the new Star Trek, Duh!). Too bad he doesn't make comments more often. All I want to do is watch the movie now.

dishes and shoes

1. At the beginning of the semester my mommy gave me some pretty purple dishes. The bottom of the box broke, and the dishes went crashing to the floor where they shattered.

I bought some new dishes. I just dropped a plate and it shattered on the floor.

2. Yesterday I was getting dressed in the dark so I wouldn't wake Caitlyn up. I ended up wearing two different shoes to work. Oops

VOTED FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME TODAY!!!!

Midterm Madness

Questions asked when I meet someone new at school:
1. What's your name?
2. Where are you from?
3. How are midterms going/are you surviving midterms?

When someone asks if I am surviving midterms I wonder what would happen if I told them no. No I am not surviving. I failed .5 midterms already. I got a C on another one, and I barely made it in time to take one because I forgot about it all week, then I went home to have nightmares that night about forgetting midterms and then failing classes after the withdraw deadline has passed.

Also, I think I will be ready to declare my major next April as Exercise Science. I would do it now, but I am taking some classes next semester that will help me decide for-sure. I am a little nervous about choosing this major because I found out today in Public Health that it is the biggest major at BYU with more than 1000 students in it. I'm not excited to be part of such a large group, but at the same time, I am super excited for all of my classes... except Chem 105,106,107 and Physics 105, 106, 107, 108.... Don't worry though, I'm not taking all of those next semester.

11 AM

It's already 11 in the morning and I am still sitting in bed. There are so many things I should be doing, but first I need to exercise, and I just can't decide if I want to go running or do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, or a mixture of both. I'll update you on what I decide.

Tonight I am going to my sister's halloween party. I'm super excited, and I'm pretty sure I know what I am going to dress up as(but I want it to be a surprise!) Alyson's party is going to Fantastic, so I really looking forward to it, but it's also the reason I need to go running-get a head start on burning off the calories I'm going to be eating tonight...

Halloween

Halloween is on Sunday, but as I am a mormon, I am celebrating it tomorrow. I still have no idea what I am going to dress up as. I never really have loved halloween. When I was little I always wished I could be a princess, but I never was(well, I was one year when I was super little, but I don't even remember:( ) So... I am at work right now, and there are a lot of people dressed up, but not me. I'm just in my normal work clothes. I just have a hard time getting into the halloween spirit.

horrible

Yesterday, as I was walking home from my not-so-great sociology class, I had the opportunity to see something out of the ordinary. I was walking by the Tanner building(for those of you who don't know what that is, it is a big, ugly, gray business building), and just as I was going past it to make my way down the ramp, I saw what I think was a guy(they had a red hoodie on, with the hood on, so it was hard to tell for sure), start running up the stairs and then trip. Instead of hoping he was okay and offering help, all I could think was "I am so happy that wasn't me because that is so embarrassing." I am a horrible person.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

No big deal, I'm just a little bore at work so I registered my phone to send posts to my blog.
Holla!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love technology.

Thursdays

Thursdays are pretty tough days for me.
9:00 Wake up, get ready
9:50 Run out the door(literally)
10:05 show up to class late
10:50 start my ascent up the stairs of death
11:00 food science class with Caitlyn and Natalie.(pretty much a joke. I will never be a food scientist, but we get free food)
11:50 start another ascent up to the morris center for work(during which I walk by the bell tower where the bells are rining in the noon hour. They need to be tuned.)
12:10-4 Work(usually I get time to do "homework" as well)
4 Walk home as fast as possible so I can eat dinner before...
5:18 go to class
8:00 freedom

So, there's nothing really super horrible, but it's just a long day.

Bedtime Stories

Every semester my roommate(s) find a way to tell me a "story" before I go to sleep. I absolutely love it, and it really helps me grow closer to my roommates and I love them so much.
In Fall of 2009 my roommate Elizabeth Rose would come into my room and share with Margot and me a peom from her book of poems. Sometimes it was long, other times short. All were amazing. I love English majors.
Winter 2010 rolled around and my roommates and I ended up having a never-ending sleepover in the living room where, each night, we would watch at least one episode of Friends. So. Much. Fun.
Last night(Fall 2010) Caitlyn decided to show me a blog of which she had spent many hours in search. It was amazing and I hope we have similar experiences nightly.

I'm at work right now and I think I'm going to look up a good poem to read, then when I go home I'm going to watch an episode of Friends on Hulu, then I'm going to find that blog I've been looking for.

cinder blocks and carrots

At this very moment, I have four cinder blocks sitting in the middle of the floor in my room. Eventually, I plan to use them to lift my bed off the floor, but until then(whenever "then" may be) they just sit in the middle of my room. They kind of act like a wall separating the two halves of the room. This wasn't necessarily intended, but it happened, so Caitlyn(my roommate) stays out of my area.

I bought a five pound bag of carrots at Costco the other week. I still probably have 3.5-4lbs left. I do like carrots, but five pounds for one person is a little bit excessive. Are carrots freezable? I LOVE steamed carrots, so maybe I should just freeze the rest and steam them as I desire...

Another First in College.

I failed my very first test in college last week. Two days after I decided to try to get into the nursing program.

I'm having second thoughts about this whole college idea...

RICE!!

I used my rice cooker tonight for the first time since last winter semester. It smelled like maybe I cooked some dust or other surprises as well...
I now have 4 cups of rice that I need to eat in the next few days. I need some good ideas of what to make with it... Hello? That's a plea for help people.

fall is HERE!!!!

Signs that fall is here:
-Yesterday I stepped on a plethora of cruchy yellow leaves that had just fallen from a big tree.
-It was pretty cool this morning(low 40s)
-The mountains are so colorful!
-I don't die from heat exhaustion while walking to class.
-It feels like school started forever ago, yet we still have forever left
-Halloween is just around the corner
-I'm wearing a jacket right now
-It's dark by like 4pm(jk, not till like 7, but still)

I'm liking it though. Because of how warm it has been the past few weeks, it has made BYU seem even more foreign to me because almost the entire time I was at BYU-I it was FREEZING. It was a fun new experience though-the heat I mean.

RIP camera

This past summer I ruined my camera. I drowned it in heat protector spray for hair.

My camera now does not work.

Unplanned sighting

I'm at the mall/grocery store/on campus/anywhere and I see an acquaintance. What do I do? I hide. Every time. Even if they are standing in the store/aisle/entrance to a building/etc that I need to go through, I will turn the other way and go to a different store/aisle/entrance. I don't know why this stresses me out so much, but it does. It's especially bad when I see girls that I recognize from one of my classes in the restroom while washing my hands. Awkward.

For all of you who read my blog but cringe as you do so because it is so ugly, I have good news. My amazingly talented cousin Elissa Stewart is doing a make-over for me!! :) I am so excited!!!

Don't You dare Slip!!

The weather has been pleasantly gray today. Lots of clouds and rain and little bit of thunder. As I walked to class with my super cute purple umbrella, and on my way I cross a couple of streets, but as I was crossing one, a girl was going the other way. Now, this wouldn't be a big deal except the ground is obviously wet from the rain, and because I don't jay walk, I was in a crosswalk. Well, this other chick was wearing flip-flops, and as she stepped on the painted crosswalk she slipped, but luckily did not fall down, but the thing is, when she slipped I gasped. Pretty loudly. A couple of people gave me interesting looks because they had not seen the girl slipping and sliding across the street as I had.

The worst part is, this is not the first time I have reacted badly when someone has slipped. Last winter when at BYU-Idaho the stairs to our apt were iced over and my roommate Dara slipped. I screamed.

God Bless the Man in the Testing Center

Time: 8:57
Place: Parking Lot south of Campus at the Bottom of rape hill
Who: Courtney and Caitlyn(my amazing roommate)
What: Trying to make it to the testing center by 9 to take first test of the semester(basically first test of my career at BYU)before the testing center closes at 9.

Get out of the car. Run across the parking lot. Wearing ballet flats. Run across street-lucky no cars coming-run up flight of stairs. Run up more stairs. Keep running up never ending stairs. Get to the top of stairs so I can run up a steep path. See the building(I don't even know what it's called...?? sometimes I wonder if I'm really a student at BYU?) Run in the building. Run up the first flight of stairs inside.
See a man closing the last door for the testing center. Collapse onto the stairs. Pull my phone out in despair. Hear the voice of an angel. "Did you need to take a test?" "Yes." "I thought I heard someone panting."

I got up and took my test.

I HATE THE DUMB INTERNET AT MY APAAAAARTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't freak out, but I just bare figured out how to change the font! Please don't have a heart attack, but we probably should mark our calendars and celebrate this day each year for the rest of our lives!!

I did want to mention that the first day of each semester is a disaster for me. Let's take a trip back through time to my very first day of college. It was a beautiful day in Rexburg Idaho(sometime around Sept. 11, 2009). I had no idea where any of my classes were. I had only been on campus once... maybe twice. Well, I was stressed to say the least, aaaand I had a broken foot. Okay, so this isn't the BEST story for a WORST day of school, but my other two get way better.

Fast forward to the first day of my second semester freshman year. Still at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. No broken foot, but I'm pretty sure there was snow EVERYWHERE aaaand it was fREEZING. I don't know exactly what happened, maybe my brain froze, maybe I'm just dense, but it wasn't until I was sitting very confused during the first class I attended that I realized that I was sitting in the correct room for my 10am monday class, but it was not monday. IT WAS TUESDAY. WHO THE HECK DECIDED TO START THE SEMESTER ON A TUESDAY??

Fast forward to the SECOND day of my first semester sophomore year.(I know I said all of these stories were about my first day, but the second day counts as the first day for me because you are still going to new classes-right? duh.) Well, I walk into my class and there are like 4 different older professor looking people at the front of the class. The classroom is in the student athlete building. The professor looking-type start talking about how excited they are to be working with freshmen. They hand out the syllabus and this is when it hits me. At the top of the first page of the syllabus reads the name of the class:
CONTEMPORARY ISSUES FOR THE STUDENT ATHLETE
Now, it's not like this isn't what it said on MYMAP, but when I read the name of the course when registering, I interpreted it as contemporary issues that student athletes face as they play their sport... Nope. Not what it meant. The class I was sitting in was for student athletes. I. do. not. play. any. ncaa. sport. I barely exercise at all. There were a couple of things that made this experience all the better:
1. I was sitting in the seat farthest from the door
2. It was a small class (so I didn't feel comfortable just standing up and leaving)
3. Towards the end of the period, we were given the opportunity to go around the room and introduce ourselves as well as share the sport in which we participate.(making me wish I had just stood up and left. would've been less awkward.)

All in all I think I will just boycott school from now on. Or at least the first week of each new semester.

The lord's university? Really?

This year, I am attending BYU(in Provo, UT). Last year I went to BYU-Idaho(Rexburg, ID). I am just really confused because last year in Idaho everyone said that we were attending the Lord's University, but now, her in Provo, everyone says this is the Lord's real university. Now I just don't know what to think.

Enough about all of the politics. I do miss BYU-Idaho dearly, and often wonder why the heck I transferred down here. Here are some of the things I miss the very most about BYU-I/rexburg/Idaho(in no particular order):
1. The small campus
2. Living across the street from campus
3. The happy/friendly students
4. Meeting my friends at the xroads
5. Horkleys
6. Scary movie night
7. Millhollow
8. The constant wind
9. Lights on the track at night
10. All of my amazing roommates

But, there are so many things I love about BYU as well... including:
1. Getting to go home for dinner each Sunday
2. Big college-like classes
3. Going to the mall that is just 8 minutes away
4. Shopping at Target
5. WEARING SHORTS!!
6. I don't know if I should put this one... No curfew (well it's not enforced)
7. The Mountains (the leaves are changing color and it is beautiful!!!)
8. Seeing my cousins
9. FOOTBALL!!!
10. Housing complexes that include boys and girls i.e. the boys in my ward live across the sidewalk, opposed to across the street, then across the park, then across another street.

All in all, I honestly can not compare the two schools. Each has its strengths as well as weaknesses. They both have a special place in my <3.

Those stairs in the American FOrk Tab

We had stake conference today. We got there late, so we decided to sit in the basement. As we were walking down the stars, I missed one and slipped. Luckily there was no one below me or the would've seen more than they wanted. It was a little embarrassing, but I thought I handled it quite well. For the first couple of minutes I did think through all of the other scenarios/consequences had I fallen all the way down/ripped my dress/broken my arm/broken my leg/etc. Conference was pretty good. It did seem like it lasted forever, but spiritually uplifting all the same.

Another post about the dentist

I forgot to mention that last week when at the dentist, I was informed that it is time for me to get my wisdom teeth out. Needless to say, I am scared to death to get them out. SCARED TO FREAKIN DEATH. This is no joke. I went to see the oral surgeon yesterday, and he told me that my x-rays showed a pretty normal set of wisdom teeth and that it would be a regular(not easy, not hard) extraction. He explained that I can not eat or drink for 8 hours leading up to the surgery, and that when I get there I'll get a "small" stick in my arm(which I know is a load of crap. I've seen lots of people get IVs, and it is no small stick, I mean, come on, does he think I'm an idiot? I was in a medical assisting course for almost a year. Whatever) after which they'll put me out and then I'll be asleep for about an hour, and then I will be able to leave the office and start the weeks of horribly tedious and painful rehab. Here's a list of reasons I am scared
1. I have never been put to sleep, but I'd rather be asleep than awake as they are chipping away at my mouth.
2. Although I know that IVs save lives, they are also dangerous. During the aforementioned MA class, I had the wonderful opportunity to read about the risks of intravenious shots. Scary stuff.
3. I have talked to many people who have had their wisdom teeth out, and there are only two extremes during the rehab: it's either totally fine, and I'll be back to normal activity the next day, or it will be the worst week of my life and I will basically wish I were dead. I am pretty sure it will be the latter.

I should probably start looking more at the bright side of everything, but I feel like I'm usually a very optomistic person, but this is just not something I can do that with. Wish me luck, bring me some jamba juice.

the lovely dentist

Last week, I had the not so wonderful opportunity to visit the dentist. Although I love the actual man himself(he is my best friend's dad), I dislike visiting him at work. I really don't like the horrid feeling/sound of the polisher when they clean your teeth, and then the hygienist who was helping me was really rough while flossing. I'm going to be honest-I'm not a great flosser, but when I do floss, it doesn't hurt that bad, so why was it hurting while she flossed? Well, sadly I did not get to the sign the no-cavity poster as I walked out because I had two cavities, which brings me to the main part of my story.

I got to re-visit the dentist today-to get two cavities filled, one on each side of my mouth=an entirely numb mouth. Well, the entire thing wasn't numb, just the bottom half and half of my tonge, but it was bad enough. The worst part was that although the right half of my lip/cheek/face was numb, it still hurt while he was drilling. Not fun. I did get laughing gas though, and that was fun.

I know this wasn't embarrassing or anything, but it's all I have for now.

Suffocating!!!

I am currently sitting in the David O Mckay Library at BYU-Idaho. I am trying super hard to study... or trying super hard to click out of facebook so I can start studying, when what happens just as I do? I am punished. I don't know why, especially because I was finally choosing my homework over fb, but whatev. The boy sitting just a few study stalls down from me pull out one of those HUGE sharpie markers and starts using it to do who knows what. It is disgusting! I think I'm starting to suffocate, or maybe even a little bit high. Usually I wouldn't mind it, but really, in an enclosed area, this guy should know better. What a lame-o.

Just getting a closer look

Yesterday was a hard day. After a week of beautiful, and when I say beautiful, I mean GORGEOUS weather, it snowed. It was basically a blizzard outside. After going to almost every single class, I came home to do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred workout with my bff Dara who is also my roommate. Well, I had already changed into my shorts and t-shirt, put on my socks, but not my shoes. Well, for reasons I can't remember, I was trying to get from the living room through the kitchen to my bedroom quickly. Well, socks and tile don't really go well together, so before I knew it I was flat on the kitchen floor getting a closer look at the tile. Don't worry, only two people saw me, so only two people were there to laugh.

Shhh! Stop talking to me!

The other day, I was sitting in my Prep for eternal marriage class when out of nowhere, my tummy started to talk to me. First off, I want everyone out there to know that I eat breakfast every day. Well, thanks to my luck, the classroom just happened to be absolutely silent, and of course the 20 closest students(which here at BYUI is basically the entire class) turned to look at me. I was super embarrassed, but don't worry, the story goes on. I spent the rest of the period doing everything I could think of to get my stomach to just be quiet!! Some of my ideas include: folding my arms really tightly across my abdominal area, shoving my fist into my stomach, praying that it would stop, and swallowing really often. Sadly, none of my strategies worked, and I now make sure I eat a snack before going to class.
